Here are the last two letters that I have of Lucile's. I hope that you have enjoyed them as much as I have. I so wish that I had found the letters that she wrote - she seems like she was quite the girl! Enjoy...

Dear Lucile and Francis: -
You all ought to appreciate this letter for I got up this morning real early to write before my usual work sets in. Have been as busy as bees all summer helping mama, so she could do our sewing. G... cooks breakfast and I dinner and supper.
We were so glad to get your nice little letters and were delighted with the pictures. They are as pretty as can be and if I ever see Joe Kelly will let him see. Joe and Ch... are working together. They all think Susie's picture is "darling" and are crazy to see her. Aunt B.. must be sure to stop over when she goes home. We have really missed you both this summer. Know Uncle Oscar could spare you all a few weeks anyway. Erma can keep house all right by herself. Mama said you must come. She asked me to write as she didn't have time.
Leven was here all winter but has gone home now. She thought so much of you both.
Did you ever get your automobile ride?I never did enjoy anything so much but know I crowded Aunt B... Miss Murphee wrote that I have gotten my school; but as yet, haven't been notified by school board. G... will work across the river again, and this year will be principal.
Did you get through your examinations? Know you did as Miss White used to show me some fine papers.
Hope everything has been well this summer and Aunt B.. will get to like her life. Change will do her much good. I t does me good and I am only there a year.
Wish Uncle Oscar could come and stay long enough to benefit him.
We are going to look for and expect all of you. Lots of love for each and all from us all. Kiss Susie for me.
Your loving cousin,
Lucy B...

Dearest Lucille -
Have just gotten home this morning from a two week vacation. Spent 10 days in Birmingham and 4 in New Orleans. I had intended also going to St. Louis and Chicago but I was having such a good time in Birmingham that I gave up the rest of my trip and spent the time there. Believe me that is the best town in the world (I mean the people). Thought I would get to spend Sunday at home, but I went down to the office a few minutes ago and found that I would have to go to Washington tonight. Wished they had said Birmingham. Parker is also going to Washington tonight, but he is going to be there to stay. Sure do hate to see him leave J.C. because he is such a fine fellow. I received your letter this morning and am so glad that you like the hat. You must always remember your most humble cousin when you wear it. (D--- this cigar it won't burn at all. I have lit it forty-seven times and it has gone out again) Don't be surprised at what I say because I have just come from a wet town!
I remembered you on your birthday but was too busy to write. Suppose Mother sent you a remembrance from me, but I have not had time to ask her, but it was my instructions that she do so, and if she has not I will do so.I am not much of a hand to select presents, especially for young ladies, so that is why I left it to Mother, for she can do anything. Alas so sorry you could not accept the trip to J.C., but , of course, you know best. I had planned several nice trips for us and was going to spend my vacation at home while you were here, so that we could take these trips. Please excuse this letter if it does not make any sense because I am writing like a streak of lightening, and I did not want to put off writing my most beloved and sweetest cousin until I got back from Washington. Will write you about my vacation when I get back. Must close. With lots and lots of love
Your cousin
Bill
