Me, me, me. It's all about me.

My dear friend, Lori, was so kind and chose me for the Thinking Blogger Award last week. By now, I think that most of you have already been nominated so I won't choose anyone else. Most of my favorite blogs are listed over there on the left - all of these amazing women make me "think". Just wanted to say thank you to Lori who has inspired me for over ten years!

And now I see that my new friend, Andrea, wants me to share 7 random/weird things about myself. When I asked my husband what he thought I should mention he said, "Well - you like to collect old photo albums filled with pictures of people that you don't know. You collect old wallpaper. You like to wear clothing from dead people (referring to my love of vintage clothing). You collect hats that you never wear..." Do you get the picture, girls? :) I had to remind him that while HE thinks that it's weird - you don't at all - you get that about me! So, the things that most other people think are weird don't count here!

Here are some things that you don't know about me -

1. I am a voracious reader. I have piles of books everywhere. I love old books, new books, big books, little books - doesn't matter to me - I love them all! I go to the library and book store at least twice a week. I have a really hard time tearing apart books to use the pages in my art - it just kills me!

2. I must have lip balm on my lips at all times. My favorites are Rosebud Salve and this Violet balm from Spain.

3. My favorite snack is slightly burnt popcorn - Orville Redenbaker's 94% fat-free Kettle Corn with I Can't Believe it's not Butter Spray and popcorn salt, to be exact. Yum! Drives my poor husband crazy - he hates the smell.

3. I have slept in the same bed as Tom Cruise and Nicole Kidman. But not at the same time! We stayed in this fabulous resort on our honeymoon, called Compass Point in the Bahamas. The manager told us that TC had stayed the month prior to our visit. Ten years ago, I thought it was cool - now it qualifies as WEIRD.

4. I have a strong aversion to the color yellow. Last month, I filled our mantle with an assortment of apothecary jars filled with eggs and easter candy. I went through two bags of easter m&ms and disposed of all the yellow ones before filled the jar on the mantle. OK, I confess I did fill it up first with the yellow ones included in the mix but I just couldn't leave them there. It drove me crazy - I know ... weird...

5. I LOVE reality TV. It all started with The Real World - New York. My favorites include Project Runway, the Real Deal, the Amazing Race and the Real World/Road Rules Challenge show (I can't believe that I'm admitting to that one!). I hate dating shows, nanny shows, dirty house shows and/or extreme makeover shows - I'm not interested in crying while watching my "fluff" TV!

6. My favorite movies are The Philadelphia Story, the Thin Man series and the BBCs Pride and Prejudice. Although, I'm a sucker for most period movies...

7. My constant companion is my miniature poodle, Monte.
