Oh So Pretty

So long - farewell -

I am headed off to Michigan to see my in-laws for the week.  Just my girl, my poodle and I driving across 5 states in twelve hours... My lucky husband will fly in later this week to join us.  When I return, my girlfriend, Lori from Vintage Flair, is coming for a visit.  I can't wait for that!  We always have SO much fun together!

So, I will be back soon with lots of pictures from my favorite  shops in Detroit. Hope that you and your family have a safe and happy holiday!

More treasures...

Okay girls, I've got some more goodies to share with you.  I truly hope that you know that I don't mean it in a "NANANANANA" way, more of a "Lookie - lookie!  Look what I found" kind of way! You know that right? Right!

So, there was an estate sale on my street on Saturday - stopped in and found some lovely books from the turn of the century -one was a french book and the other was a Day Book...   The books were each $1.00.

Later, stopped at Goodwill and found the mirrored place cards ($3.00), bisque lady (99 cents) and little pearl frame (49 cents).

Finally, I found a "new" Fine Consignment Shop that has amazing stuff - boy, I am going to have to stay away from there - could be big trouble for my budget. 

I did make a new friend there though... Then she followed me home :)

Pottery Piece of the Week

Okay, here is my second "Pottery Piece of the Week", originated by Lori at Vintage Flair.

It is marked "USA" and stands about 12 inches tall.  I love the shape of this - it's not great for flowers but lovely all on its own...  I have been reading others who are chatting about their love of pottery.  Go visit Fresh Vintage and Studio Stuff and check out their collections too!

Do you "Moo"?

I do!!!  I just received my Moo cards in the mail (have I ever mentioned how very much I LOVE mail?!?!).  It was so much fun to choose my favorite photos from my Flickr gallery and so easy.  Of course they are made in the U.K. - I adore anything British and this just cements that for me because this whole concept is BRILLIANT! These little things are the cutest things that I have ever seen.  They are teeny tiny and are soooo pretty.  Granted I probably adore them so much because the are all pictures of my little girl and some of my favorite pretties from around my house.  I can't wait to take more photos and order another set.  I could use them as business cards, gift tags, book marks, art for the doll house...

So go! Go! Order a set of your own - you will LOVE them.

It's Tea Party Time...

Treasures...

I took a drive to my favorite little town about 30 minutes south of Greensboro, NC (where I now live) to check out a great antique mall.  SO glad that I did! Oh, the treasures I found!  I knew that you all would understand my excitement.  I mean, I was literally squealing over a few of these finds.  As always, I was on a budget - the most that I spent on one item was $8, most things were $1!

Little lovelies on a roll of vintage wallpaper...

A wire desk basket filled with goodies -

player piano rolls, vintage pom poms, an old cigar box.  I got the two ballerina prints for my daughter's room and the 3 little notebooks to embellish... The 3 letterpress stamps are from the local newspaper and date from the 1950s. They say "Bon Sheer", "Tiedthe's Parkdale" and "Mini Pastels".

I'm always looking for sheet music and vintage magazines -

I have been searching high and low for vintage seam binding (the new stuff just does not compare!) and look what I found!

I can stop - REALLY!

It's not a problem.  I don't HAVE to stop at every thrift store that I pass.  I'm not inexplicably pulled into every antique shop in town.  I don't commit driving violations when I realize that there is an estate sale in the house that I just drove by.  I don't plan vacations to visit family and friends AROUND antique shows(Round Top, Liberty and Ann Arbor)!  Really, I could stop if I wanted to - but who would want to?  I LOVE the treasure hunt. Here are some of my latest finds that bring me much more joy than they should!

And, my favorite, a reproduction French Provincial coffee table! It was only $10! I can't wait to clean it up a bit - it will be perfect on my screened porch...

I also have really gotten lucky and found lots of linens lately - mostly vintage and some Shabby Chic.  I will post those another day.

Hippity, hoppity...

Easter's on it's way! 

I SO enjoy decorating my house for spring - all of the bunnies and flowers and bird's nests that I can find are put out.  Here are a few of my favorites...

This bunny is in my daughter's room all year round.
